Inside The VolunTourist.org

The VolunTourist.org is the “Home of THE VolunTourism Community.” As such, it encourages VolunTourists (leisure or business travelers), or the professionals who represent VolunTourists, VolunTourism Stakeholders, and Educators in becoming stewards of voluntourism. By sharing your insights with like-minded individuals as well as furthering your own understanding of voluntourism and its potential, you are generating a more vibrant expression of voluntourism in the world around you. Thus, voluntourism will continue to evolve and modify itself in real-time inspired by the ever-changing landscape of a committed group of individuals who see the value of integrating voluntary service and travel & tourism.

The VolunTourist.org is a sister site of VolunTourism.org, founded by David Clemmons in September 2003, and Via International. This site is a “beta” site to determine if the world is truly ready for a VolunTourism Community. An enthusiastic response will let us know that indeed stewardship is top-of-mind for folks entering this space; education and interaction with other stewards is of interest; and creation of additional content will prove to be a worthwhile venture. We look forward to your comments and feedback on what may better serve all of you.
